There are many ways you can support our work. All donations will help us accomplish our mission.

Your Container or Hand-Carried shipment order for medical supplies and equipment will help healthcare providers deliver high quality service to medically underserved populations.

Looking for People like You - Volunteers are vital to Medical Bridges to help us maintain a high level of service to communities abroad. We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help in different areas of our operation.

Sort Room Volunteer

The volunteer work primarily consists of sorting donated medical supplies in preparation for shipment to those in need in developing countries.

Supplies are sorted by type (form, fit, function) and quantity to ensure they meet requisite expiration dates. Medical professionals on staff assist in identifying products and answering questions.

Volunteer days for the sort room are:

  • Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
    • Morning Session 1:  9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
    • Afternoon Session 2:  1:00 p.m.  3:00 p.m.
  • Saturdays:
    • Morning Session 1:  9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

PLEASE NOTE: Our greatest volunteer need is during the week, Tuesdays through Thursdays.

Saturdays tend to fill up fast - often weeks or months in advance - and appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please view the Volunteer Calendar for available dates.

Because of space limitations in our Sort Room, we can only accomoodate a total of 15 volunteers at a time, whether they are groups or individual volunteers or a combination of the two.

To best accommodate large groups, we suggest booking appointment at least two weeks in advance of a planned visit.

Volounteers MUST be at least 15 years of age.

All indivudual volunteers between the ages of 15 to 18 must be  accompanied by an adult chaperone.

Dress code: Comfortable and closed-toe shoes are suggested. Groups are encouraged to wear their company or organization's T-shirt.

All volunteers are asked to complete and bring a Liability Waiver form the day of their scheduled visit. If is not done in advance, the waiver can be signed at our facility on the day of the visit.

Once a Volunteer Appointment is scheduled, you will be contacted by our outreach coordinator for confirmation. Iif there is a schedule or space conflict, you will be notified then, and every attempt will be made to accommodate requests in rescheduling on another date.

If you already have a volunteer session scheduled and confirmed, please check the Volunteer Calendar to verify your appointment time and date.

Thank you! We look forward to seeing you!
