Seton Medical Center Hays cares for patients in South Travis County, Hays, and Caldwell. They are the largest medical campus in Hays County, and with their wealth of resources comes a surplus – a surplus that is being put to good use thanks to their generosity and goodwill.
We at Medical Bridges have been collecting as much of the nation’s yearly nine billion dollar surplus of medical supplies and equipment as possible since our founding in 1997. We keep our doors open by spreading the word that medical supply excess can and should be put to use. In fact, a donation of surplus medical supplies can be the deciding factor in life and death situations for patients in countries with a supply deficit.
Our director of operations Jeremiah Judkins tells us that “the nature of the medical system generates excess. It’s not just the mentality, it’s some of the policies”. It is this system of over-production of hospital supplies that allows medical centers like Seton to make large donations to Medical Bridges.
Seton’s donation of spare couches and chairs highlights the fact that Medical Bridges does not only accept contributions of medical supplies and equipment, but also encourages the donation of furniture that adds to the completeness of hospitals overseas.
Medical Bridges thanks Seton Medical Center Hays for their generous contribution and looks forward to any developments in our relationship the future may hold.
